Simon Acres Group are delighted to be representing a leading, well-established supplier within the KBB sector in the search for an experienced Senior Contracts Operations Manager .

Our client is a highly respected business with an excellent reputation for supplying quality products and exceptional service to housebuilders, developers, contractors, merchants and trade professionals across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced operational leader to oversee the successful delivery of their contracts division.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will take overall responsibility for the operational delivery of contract projects from order placement through to completion.

This is a strategic leadership role requiring someone who can coordinate multiple departments, improve operational performance and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of contract projects across the UK.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
• Coordinate activities across Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Manufacturing and Logistics teams.
• Build strong relationships with contractors, developers, merchants and key commercial customers.
• Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving issues before they impact delivery.
• Develop and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
• Manage supplier performance and stock availability to support project requirements.
• Produce operational reports and KPI analysis for senior management.
• Lead project review meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and quality standards.
• Manage, mentor and develop a high-performing operations team.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will possess:

• Proven experience in a senior operations or contracts management role.
• Experience within the KBB, building materials, construction products, manufacturing or merchant sectors.
• Strong operational and commercial awareness.
• Demonstrable experience delivering multiple high-value projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Outstanding planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
• Project Management qualification (Prince2 or equivalent).
• Experience within manufacturing, distribution or supply chain operations.
• Budget management and operational performance reporting.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
