Your opportunityIt is difficult to recall when supply chain and operations have been more at the forefront of organisations’ strategic priorities. As supply chains are recalibrated to address unprecedented global uncertainty, volatility and risk, you will work with some of the world’s leading organisations to optimise and transform their supply chain, operations, net zero and commercial and procurement operations.

Leverage and expand your experience in commercial and procurement innovation to be at the forefront of shaping leading practices. Develop and impart your experience on those you work with to help create the next generation of leaders. Develop your leadership and management ability as you work in cross-functional teams across our Consulting, People and Technology practices. Build out your technical and sector knowledge by working alongside our clients in project teams. Work with cutting-edge technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet Of Things (IOT) and Blockchain; as well as leading procurement (Source to Pay) technology.

As a Senior Consultant, you’ll balance internal and external responsibilities, comprising client, business development support, operational and personal development.

Focus on our clients

Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and be a trusted advisor in at least one form of supply chain i.e., operations, planning, procurement, manufacturing etc.

Contribute/lead a workstream within a project and be capable of managing activity to complete deliverables within your remit

Contribute and be an active member of a core project team, often working with others from different parts of EY’s world

Support our business

Contribute to the development of proposals to showcase some of our leading practices

Engage the market with thought leadership and public profile, and contribute to enhancing our methodologies

Work across our internal sector and account field of play teams to develop your network, bringing our commercial and procurement expertise to bear

Support operational excellence

Support successful delivery of projects by managing your work products and contribution as forecast to time and budget

Help ensure the quality of our delivery exceeds client expectations by effectively managing activities within your remit

Personal and people development

Maintain a personal development program to continually enhance your technical and consulting skills

Increasingly grow your people leadership experience through leading as part of client and internal teams

Your ExperienceTypically, Senior Consultants bring practical experience from either a professional services or industry background where you have developed your commercial and procurement experience. Your Commercial and Procurement experience will be valued across several sectors, with a key focus on Consumer Products and Retail, Energy and Resources, Government and Infrastructure, Health and Life Sciences, Private and National and Telecommunication, Media and Entertainment.

Senior Consultants are expected to possess experience in at least one of the technical skills below and some exposure across one or multiple others:

Supply Chain Strategy

Operating Model design, segmentation strategy and inventory optimisation. Understanding the issues across the end to end supply chain, and potential solutions to improve performance.

Supply Chain Transformation

Significant supply chain transformation projects with design, setup and delivery including people, process and technological change.

Digital Supply Chain

Next-generation supply chain technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, cognitive automation and AI, Internet-of-Things (IOT), Blockchain and Big Data analytics.

Supply Chain Analytics

Developing detailed supply chain analytics to deliver enhanced end to end visibility.

Supply Chain Planning Functional

Demand and supply planning, SandOP, segmentation strategy, inventory optimisation and/or production scheduling.

Supply Chain Planning with Technology

Knowledge of technologies such as OMP, Kinaxis, o9, Aera, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, SAP S/4 HANA.

Logistics

Network design and modelling; global customs and trade; warehouse design and optimisation; 3PL/4PL or Control Tower management.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing optimisation at plant level or across a manufacturing network.

Procurement

Strategic, operational or transactional procurement across the buying lifecycle, including procurement strategy, operating model, category management, strategic sourcing or deployment of procurement data, technology and analytics. Experience deploying SAP Ariba is sought.

Service and Asset Management Transformation

Understanding end-to-end asset management lifecycle including service and asset management transformation.

QualificationsOur Senior Consultants have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are able to engage effectively with peers and senior stakeholders. They are proactive and energetic, self-starters, with innovative qualities that enable high quality work to be delivered often in relatively short timeframes. Some may have professional body membership or qualifications (e.g., CIPS, IACCM) or equivalent; apply if you have skills additive to our team.
