Senior Consultant - Planning and Delay

A highly reputable claims and disputes consultancy is looking to hire a
Senior Delay Consultant
based in Leeds.The successful candidate will likely be an existing Delay Analyst who has worked for a consultancy providing dispute resolution services.Alternatively, this role would also suit a construction professional from a contracting background, who has had some exposure to claims and disputes work within their role, and is now interested in joining a specialist claims and disputes consultancy to develop their skills and career within this sector.If this sounds like you, then this position could be a great career move. In return, you will work for a reputable consultancy with a highly experienced senior management team, where you can expect to be involved in claims, disputes (largely adjudications), and expert witness work going forward.This line of work offers exposure to a wide variety of assignments across multiple sectors, working with diverse clients including main contractors, sub-contractors, and client organizations.Responsibilities and Duties
As a Senior Delay Consultant, you will report directly to the Managing Director and support senior management on complex disputes, as well as manage your own client assignments related to claims on live projects.You will be expected to:Support Delay Analysts on disputed and time-related issuesReview construction programmes and advise on themHelp clients avoid conflicts with expert, commercially focused counselAssist clients on delay and loss mattersCollaborate with commercial experts on disputed and non-controversial time issuesProvide delay-related coaching and training to clientsPrepare reports and represent clients in tribunalsWork with solicitors to support construction disputesContribute to Business Development activitiesDesired Skills and Experience
Approximately 10 years postgraduate experience in constructionExperience in live planning, programming, or delay analysis at a disputes consultancy; experience in both is advantageousFamiliarity with programmes and software such as P6, Asta Powerproject, MS ProjectExperience in managing or supporting formal disputes (adjudication, arbitration, litigation) is advantageousExcellent client-facing communication skillsGood knowledge of standard forms of contract such as NEC and JCTProficiency with Microsoft OfficeQualifications/Educational Requirements
Degree qualifiedMasters in Construction Law is desirable; candidates working towards this may also be consideredCompany Overview
