Senior Construction Manager

Your New Role
As Senior Construction Manager, you will act as the primary technical authority for all construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, contractual requirements and programme objectives.You will lead multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors, overseeing construction delivery from planning through to completion. Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Planning and Design teams, you will ensure safety, quality, programme and commissioning targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all site construction activities and managing delivery teams and subcontractors.
- Acting as Principal Contractor representative where required.
- Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, HSE legislation and site-specific procedures.
- Managing construction logistics, site establishment, welfare facilities and working areas.
- Overseeing programme development, progress reporting and construction assurance activities.
- Producing and approving key documentation including Construction Phase Plans, Safe Systems of Work and Environmental Management Plans.
- Coordinating interfaces between project stakeholders, clients, design authorities and operational teams.
- Driving quality, commissioning and handover activities through to project completion.
- Monitoring construction performance and providing progress updates to senior project teams.
What You''ll Need to Succeed
- Significant experience in a Senior Construction Manager or Construction Manager position.
- Proven track record delivering major new-build construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and project delivery models.
- Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSG65.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contractor and subcontractor interfaces within complex environments.
Desirable:
- Nuclear new build experience.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
- Experience working on highly regulated or safety-critical sites.
- Crane and heavy lifting scheme experience.
