About this Senior Composite Designer Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take a key technical role in the design and development of composite and metallic components for a variety of high-performance applications, including aircraft, vehicles, and motorsport. This position offers the opportunity to lead projects, mentor junior designers, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes. You will combine hands-on CAD expertise with leadership skills to ensure that designs meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and manufacturability.

What is expected of you as a Senior Composite Designer with our client?
- Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong knowledge of CAD, preferably NX11
- Understanding of manufacturing techniques for composite components and tooling
- Ability to apply engineering knowledge to deliver robust solutions
- Experienced user of CAD surfacing tools and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex ideas to different audiences
- Fluent in spoken and written English
Responsibilities of a Senior Composite Designer with our client
- Experience designing for multiple vehicle types, including aircraft, automotive, and motorsport
- Proficient in NX or Catia V5/V6
- Design and CAD modelling of composite components (NX preferred, Catia considered)
- Analyse and interpret customer requirements into practical design solutions
- Prepare detailed designs and laminate books
- Collaborate with Aerodynamic and Stress departments to ensure compliance with design intent and structural integrity
- Drive continuous development of designs and processes to maintain best practices
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards (AS 9100D)
- Lead and mentor junior designers to maintain high design standards
- Support the Test team in exploring and validating technical solutions
