This is a twelve-month secondment opportunity/ fixed term role for someone looking to lead a high-impact project. Reporting to the Head of Public Health Commissioning, you’ll play a central role informing the future commissioning of public health services in Southwark.Responsibilities

Developing and implementing commissioning plans for public health servicesTranslating commissioning intentions set out in the division’s business and partnership plans.Leading on specific areas of commissioning for public health including sexual and reproductive health services, health visiting and school nursing services.Working with a range of partners across the statutory, private and voluntary sectors, including the NHSProducing clear, evidence-based reports to inform future commissioningQuality assurance and contract monitoring of servicesSupporting general commissioning and project delivery tasksThis is a 12 month fixed term/secondment role.About You

We’re looking for someone who:Has experience of commissioning public health or other health related servicesHas experience of using project management skills and knowledge of public health methodology to develop, implement and assess policies, programmes and strategies to improve health and wellbeing and/or address health inequalities.Can work collaboratively with partners across health, council services, and the voluntary sectorAre confident writing reports and presenting findings to influence decision-makingHas experience of undertaking evaluations to effectively measure the outcome and benefit of public health interventions.You’ll need to be assertive yet personable, confident managing stakeholders, and passionate about improving outcomes for residents.About the Team

You’ll join Southwark’s Public Health Commissioning team, part of the Integrated Commissioning division.
