We also produce a comprehensive range of optical fibres, copper cables and connectivity systems for voice, video and data transmission for the telecommunications sector.About The RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team in the Prysmian UK Power Grids business.This leadership role is key in driving the commercial strategy, overseeing the delivery of management plans, and developing strategic relationships with our customers. The role will cover the management of our Commercial teams in the Power Grids business function. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial management within the power sector, with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve business objectives.The Power Grid is seeing significant investment now and into the future as the transmission and distribution grid is enhanced to deliver the energy transition, connecting low carbon generation to rising electricity demand. We are looking for a person who is keen to show enthusiasm in contributing towards these targets. The focus is on “Business to Business” sales of low voltage to extra high voltage cables, accessories, installation and maintenance services as we aim to develop lasting customer relationships with major Distribution Network Operators and Contractors who work in the Energy, Rail and Renewable industries.ResponsibilitiesProvide effective leadership ensuring that Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards are applied consistently throughout the business and remain a core part of our strategy development and customer engagementDevelop and implement the commercial strategy aligned with Prysmian''s business goals and market trends identifying where investments may be necessary to grow the businessWorking with all Commercial Managers to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share through effective commercial initiativesMonitor performance to objectives and adjust strategies as necessaryand monitor and support monthly forecasting processes in each of the Power Grids businessesBuild and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key customers and stakeholders developing lasting relationships at all appropriate levelsUnderstand customer needs and future aspirations and how Prysmian can deliver a tailored solution from its Power Grids businessProvide strong leadership to the commercial teams, driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountabilityOversee framework tenders and ad hoc quotations to deliver a result aligned to the strategy of the business.Understand pricing structures and contractual terms and conditions bringing structure across the business to support day-to-day operationsOversee contract negotiations and ensure agreements are favourable and compliant with company policies whilst maximising profitabilityIdentify opportunities for product and services sales across departments within the Power Grids business ensuring alignment of objectivesQualifications and RequirementsSuccessful candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant business or engineering disciplineExperienced commercial management experience in a senior role ideally in power, renewables or similar sector.Proven successful experience of building relationships in a complex environment across countries, cultures, functions and levels to achieve business objectivesAbility to translate strategy into clear plans delivering resultsHold strong business acumen; negotiation; analysis; contractual and commercial skills.Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant commercial software packages.What we offerDefined Contribution pension scheme and generous life assuranceYes Share Scheme – annual enrolmentHealth Care Cash Plan – scheme which provides reimbursement of optical, dental and chiropody fees up to set limits.24/7 free and confidential employee counselling serviceEnhanced maternity and paternity leave and payGenerous sick pay arrangementsDell Advantage discountsRewards Portal – discounts on major retailersCycle to work schemeFree onsite parkingTransition to Retirement PolicyVitality schemeFree Flu JabYour application data will be treated according to our Data Protection Policy.
