Senior Commercial Manager

Location: Sites & Head Office
Salary: Competitive + Package

An established fit-out and refurbishment contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across multiple projects.

Working closely with operational teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors and senior leadership, you will be responsible for maximising commercial performance, managing contractual risk and ensuring successful project delivery from tender through to final account.

• Take commercial responsibility for multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from tender through to final account.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, cash flow and margin performance.
• Produce accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts.
• Lead procurement activities and manage subcontractor and supplier accounts.
• Negotiate subcontract agreements, variations and final accounts.
• Review and negotiate contract terms and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
• Manage change control, variations, extensions of time, loss and expense claims and dispute resolution where necessary.
• Protect the company''s commercial position through effective contract administration and risk management.
• Oversee payment applications, valuations, invoicing and cash collection.
• Support project teams with cost control, value engineering and design development.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks across the project portfolio.
• Support tender submissions, pricing exercises and post-tender negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
• Contribute to business growth through strong client engagement and commercial leadership.

• Extensive commercial management experience within the fit-out and refurbishment sector.
• Strong technical understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement, cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts, commercial governance and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Commercially astute, proactive and solutions-focused.
• High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and mentor others.

• Degree qualified, relevant professional qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• CSCS Card.
• Membership of a recognised professional body or working towards accreditation.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Chartered status or membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent.
