An inside IR35 opportunity exist for a Senior Commercial Manager with extensive NEC piling experience, to support and manage the development and implementation of a strategy to increase the commercial performance of the section against agreed targets.

 

Duties will include –

  • Protect the company’s commercial position at all times, including risk mitigation advice, avoidance and / or mitigation of any potential commercial risks.
  • Provide guidance and direction to commercial staff and other staff on all matters relating to the contract requirements, but especially relating to compensation events and the notification and assessment
  • Liaise with planning teams on the assessment of the time implications of compensation events.
  • Represent the Company in contract negotiations and meetings, ensuring that favourable terms and outcomes are obtained.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other stakeholders and be a key member of the management team.
  • To provide guidance and support during the estimating process on such issues as contract conditions which need bringing to the attention of the Commercial Director
  • To exercise the skills of assessment and valuation to maximise value within the terms of the contract
  • Assessing allocated compensation events including responsibility for managing time impacts as well as cost.
  • Developing strategy and plan for recovery against individual compensation events.
  • Delivering on quotation submission requirements.
  • Obtaining information from other team disciplines to allow CE's to be assessed.
  • Understanding the consequential effects.
  • Ensure that the commercial performance compensation event recovery is maximised monitored and reported, and business objectives are achieved.
  • Co-ordinates and contributes towards resolution of commercially disputed matters.

 

Requirement for this post include

  • BSc Quantity Surveying and professional membership of RICS, CIOB or ICES
  • Extensive experience on infrastructure projects for a tier one or principal UK Contractor
  • Proficient with the NEC suite of contracts
  • Proven leadership and management ability including managing numerous Quantity Surveyors simultaneously
  • The ability to manage many contracts simultaneously
  • Piling experience would be advantageous.
  • CSCS
