Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Neurology – 6 month fixed term contract (FTC).Location: Evelina London Children’s Hospital, within Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.Responsibilities
Paediatric Epilepsy (1 x WTE post).The post sits within the Complex Epilepsy Service and is due to start in March 2026 until September 2026.The trainee will be exposed to a wide variety of epilepsy syndromes and related conditions, in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.The post will offer opportunities to develop skills in multidisciplinary management of childhood epilepsy and in the use and interpretation of neuro-imaging methods, epilepsy genetics and neurophysiological tests.All Fellow posts are clinical appointments, with encouragement to develop a research interest.The broader Children’s Neurosciences Service runs a large number of specialist and multidisciplinary clinics, widening clinical exposure for the successful candidate.There is a commitment to flexible shift patterns to support service needs, including potential evenings or weekends.About the service
The Evelina complex epilepsy service is a tertiary service involved in the provision of services for children with epilepsy throughout the region alongside members of the South East Thames Paediatric Epilepsy Group, SETPEG. We provide access to the full range of therapeutic options and contribute to local and national quality improvement initiatives for epilepsy services. We are actively involved in the provision of Education and Training to Parents and children affected by epilepsy within the region, junior team members and trainees and multidisciplinary colleagues within Children’s Neurosciences, ELCH and SETPEG regional network. We are multidisciplinary and non-discriminatory, providing child and family centred care.The broader Children’s Neurosciences Service runs a large number of specialist and multidisciplinary clinics, widening the clinical exposure for a successful candidate.Qualifications and opportunities
Evidence of a clinical background in paediatric neurology with an interest in epilepsy (training or equivalent experience).Interest in multidisciplinary management and in the interpretation of neuro-imaging, neurophysiological tests and genetics related to epilepsy.Active participation in education and training to parents, children, and multidisciplinary teams is encouraged.A developing research interest is encouraged.Support and contact
