Joining a department that is friendly and fast paced, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Guidewire platform.You will use agile and lean methods and be a creative problem-solver as part of a cross-functional team, caring deeply about writing good code and constantly strive to enhance the user experience, possessing a strong desire to keep up to date with the latest development techniques.You will steer the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications by providing advanced technical insight and business acumen to the team.What you’ll be doing
Coach and mentor the development team, ensuring the complete, efficient delivery of solutionsDesign robust architecture and oversee the development and unit testing of application software across multiple technologiesEstablish and advocate for best practices and design patterns, ensuring high quality of software products and reducing maintenance needsCustomizing Claim Centre: Writing code to add features that aren’t available through configurationIntegrating with other systems: Developing integrations between Claims Centre and other systems, such as PAS, document management systems, and third-party data providersOptimizing performance: Ensuring Guidewire applications run efficiently at scaleTroubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing technical issuesMonitoring the Claims Centre platform, including but not limited to:
Identifying requirements for specific alertsCreating alerts for events and thresholdsAccessing Datadog logs and dashboards for error analysisMonitoring DXC downtime and communicating to users
You will play a pivotal role in updating the platform, including but not limited to:
Performing a 3-way merge of the updated codeValidating the updated versionAdopting new features added in the update
Our must-haves
Proven team lead experience as a key member of a passionate development teamExperience of Guidewire development (ClaimCenter preferred)Experience of coding RESTful APIsCoding in multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, etcExperience with relational databases and SQL – MS SQL Server and Transact SQL proficiency preferredExpertise in the end-to-end design and development of business database applicationIn-depth understanding of design thinking and customer-centric developmentAn understanding of insurance systems, claims and underwriting, experience working in a Speciality Commercial Insurance business is advantageousBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or equivalent experienceGuidewire ACE certified SkillsWho we are
