We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy, working within its Land Development team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on major UK infrastructure and development projects across a range of sectors, including energy, defence, residential and major development programmes.

The role would suit an experienced Senior Civil Engineer, as well as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer looking to step into a Senior-level position.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of technically challenging, multidisciplinary projects. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, working closely with clients, project managers, engineers and other design disciplines.

You will also have responsibility for coordinating and supporting other engineers, providing technical guidance and helping to develop less experienced members of the team.

The role offers a strong balance of technical design, project delivery, client interaction and team leadership, with opportunities to work on nationally significant infrastructure and development projects.

• Coordinate and manage a team of civil engineers delivering technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects
• Lead the delivery of civil engineering design across areas including drainage, utilities, highways, pavements, earthworks and construction logistics
• Produce, check and review technical deliverables including design reports, specifications, drawings and calculations
• Provide technical input into external works and civil engineering design packages
• Work with project management teams to deliver projects to agreed programmes, budgets and milestones
• Liaise with clients, project teams and other technical disciplines
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior and developing engineers
• Work independently on technically challenging problems, using sound engineering judgement
• Provide technical input into bids and proposals
• Ensure designs comply with relevant design standards, CDM regulations and health and safety requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally
• Undertake quality assurance, checking and review of your own and others'' work
• Contribute to the continuous development of technical standards and best practice

We are looking for a well-rounded Civil Engineer with strong technical experience and a collaborative approach.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or be actively working towards professional accreditation
• Proven experience within a civil engineering design consultancy
• Experience coordinating or managing civil engineering design delivery within a multidisciplinary environment
• Strong technical knowledge of external works, particularly drainage, utilities, pavements and earthworks
• Good knowledge of relevant design codes, standards and industry best practice
• Experience working independently and providing technical solutions at Senior Engineer level
• Strong communication and technical briefing skills
• A proactive approach and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with relevant design and analytical software such as Civil 3D, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow would be advantageous
• Experience within the energy or defence sectors would be beneficial but is not essential
• A full driving licence would be desirable
