After securing our first framework with DCC at the beginning of AMP6, our presence in Wales has grown significantly, directly employing over 270 colleagues in the country across all roles, from frontline construction to design and management positions.As a Senior Civil Engineer you''ll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the civil functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all civil aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.Responsibilities
Providing design support and guidance for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standardsWorking closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyondPositively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to supporting them in achieving their aimsManaging the interfaces and integration of the civil design with that of other disciplines and production of documentationActing as technical checker on project documents, and undertaking technical reviews for projects across teamsIdentifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital toolsUndertaking site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within the existing systemsSupporting the development of the civil engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projectsWhat you''ll need
Degree in Civil Engineering, or related fieldChartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering InstitutionExperience of successfully delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standardsAbility to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholdersMethodical approach to problem solvingA valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational regionWhat''s in it for you
