team. This is a hybrid position and with shared office space in
Belfast , we welcome applications from Senior Engineers across Northern Ireland.Our 130 strong Belfast Design Hub delivers a range of local, national and international projects for clients including Department for Infrastructure Roads, Translink, National Highways, Transport Scotland and Network Rail. Our multidisciplinary team encapsulates Highway Engineering, Bridge/Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, River and Coastal Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Traffic Engineering/Transport Planning, as well as being the BIM Centre of Excellence for Amey. This unique ecosystem offers our clients a one-stop shop and offers our staff the opportunity to grow and develop in a knowledge-rich environment, with specialists who are eager to assist and mentor their development.The roleOur Senior Engineers play an important part within the Highways and Designated Funds Design team and alongside our client, National Highways. As a Senior Engineer you will provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on a variety of highways drainage schemes whilst taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior designers. Responsibilities include:Lead on the delivery of scheme design, as well as providing support to the Design Team Leader within the design team on various design duties including:Surveys/InspectionsFeasibility and other technical reportsPlanning, programming and cost estimationDesign productionProduction of design schedulesReviewing and amending design drawingsProduction of SpecificationsSupporting development of Graduate Engineers and TechniciansWork to programme to deliver specified designs on timeDrive effective health and safety practices within your teamLiaise with the Client and our Community partners to ensure solutions that are developed are suitable for buildability and maintainabilityPrepare technical reports (e.g. Feasibility/Options Reports, Assessment Reports and other technical reports)What you will bring to us:Developed experience and expertise within Highways/Civil engineering field, probably gained in an Engineer role or equivalentComprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures relevant to the civil engineering disciplineAn ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound Highways engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirementsExperience in undertaking project related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) RegulationsSuccessful completion of the initial professional development leading to either Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence and to the level defined by their educationA demonstrable commitment to their plan of actions and key dates leading to successful completion of either the professional review or end point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licenceBachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learningEngTech status is desirable, gained through the professional institution to which the individual is alignedWhat we can offer you:At Amey, we recognise that our biggest asset is our people.
