Are you an experienced and passionate child residential care professional looking to make a real difference? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team providing high-quality therapeutic care to children and young people in a supportive, nurturing, and child-centred home.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering outstanding residential care that meets the individual needs of each child. You will help create a safe, stable, and positive environment where children can thrive, develop independence, and build resilience.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strong shift leadership and act as the responsible person in the absence of senior management.
  • Support and guide staff through mentoring, induction, training, and reflective practice.
  • Ensure children are listened to, involved in decisions about their care, and supported to express their views.
  • Maintain safeguarding standards, accurate records, and compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and young people using trauma-informed and child-centred approaches.
  • Support daily routines, care planning, behaviour management, and the overall running of the home.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, attachment, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma, and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • A calm, resilient, nurturing, and child-centred approach.
  • A full clean UK driving licence is desirable.

What's on offer

  • Opportunity to work in a supportive and professional residential care environment.
  • A chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.
  • Ongoing training and development.
  • A role where therapeutic care, safeguarding, and high-quality support are at the heart of everything you do
