Senior Category Manager , you will support and lead on several improvement projects across the department, as well as leading a procurement work-plan in addition to taking ownership of the most complex/niche tendering activities across the department.You will have management responsibilities for 4 members of the Category team and will be expected to provide advice and guidance to help them further their careers and become more well-rounded procurement professionals.The role is an NHS Band 8a - £53,755 - £60,504 (+ £3,000 bonus for MCIPS qualified candidates, + £3000 retention bonus after 12 months service (this is payable monthly), plus benefits outlined below.Flexible hybrid working model, with 2 days on-site per week in Nottingham27 days Annual leave + bank holidays (rising with service)Excellent employer pension contribution (up to 10.7%)Opportunity to work on innovative and essential high-profile contractsA supportive and inclusive working environmentOngoing opportunities for professional development and career progressionResponsibilities:Implement a category management strategy and support the management of key supplier relationships to deliver cost reduction and service improvementsIdentify projects and develop work plans and cost improvement programmes on an annual basis with regular reviews and updates throughout the year to deliver the agreed CIP targetsLead the negotiation and completion of the most complex/complicated contracts within the category to support the category strategyDeliver a co-ordinated workplan across the Trust, ensuring procurement best practice is fully represented and best value achieved at all levelsProviding advice and support to the Divisional Management Teams on service design and provisionProduce regular capacity and performance reports to present to the Head/Assistant Director of ProcurementRequirements:Experience of working on the Public Sector and of Public Contract RegulationsPrevious management or mentorship experience is essentialProven experience of purchasing within key category areasProven experience in whole life cycle contract managementTrack record of successfully managing high-value and highly complex tendersExcellent knowledge of public procurement regulationsNottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are working in partnership with Castlefield Recruitment to source this position.
