About the Home
We are recruiting on behalf of a warm and welcoming specialist dementia care home in Fareham, Hampshire, providing high-quality residential, dementia, respite and day care for up to 44 residents.
The home offers a comfortable and supportive environment where residents are encouraged to maintain their independence, enjoy meaningful activities and live fulfilling lives. The team takes pride in delivering personalised care that recognises each resident as an individual, respecting their preferences, routines and personal choices.
The home features bright and airy communal areas, comfortable lounges, a conservatory and welcoming dining spaces. Residents can also enjoy extensive, well-maintained gardens with mature trees, outdoor seating and raised planting beds. The level, wheelchair-friendly garden provides a peaceful space for residents to relax, socialise or enjoy gardening activities.

The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high standards of care while leading and supporting the care team throughout the night shift.
You will help ensure residents feel safe, comfortable and well cared for overnight, with a particular focus on supporting people living with dementia and promoting their dignity, independence and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring and supporting care staff during night shifts.
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care tailored to individual needs.
- Supporting residents with personal care and overnight routines.
- Administering medication in accordance with training and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate care records and documentation.
- Supporting residents living with dementia and Alzheimer''s disease.
- Promoting dignity, independence, choice and respect.
- Monitoring residents'' wellbeing and responding to their changing needs.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and reporting any concerns.
- Ensuring residents have a safe, calm and comfortable environment throughout the night.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Previous experience in a senior care role within a residential care setting.
- Experience supporting older people and individuals living with dementia.
- Medication administration experience or relevant training.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A compassionate, patient and person-centred approach.
- The ability to lead by example and support colleagues effectively.
- A reliable, proactive attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- A genuine passion for providing high standards of care.
