JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is seeking a commercially experienced and highly organised Senior Buyer to lead the centralisation of the procurement function. A highly successful, reputable company, this is a pivotal stand-alone new role designed for a proactive professional who thrives on ownership.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a lead purchasing or procurement role. -Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or distribution environment.

Role profile:

• Drive the transition of a centralised purchasing of operational goods and services across the business
• Proactively manage a diverse supplier base, negotiating high-level contracts, SLAs, and pricing structures to ensure maximum value
• Take full ownership of contracts within IT and Telecoms, Utilities and other support services
• Deliver budget impact by tracking spend analytics, forecasting trends and challenging costs
• Develop and implement procurement workflows that increase efficiency and transparency across the business

Person profile:

• Proven experience in lead purchasing or procurement role, ideally within Manufacturing, Engineering
• Knowledge of service-based contracts
• A natural negotiator
• Proven ability to work in a stand-alone capacity, managing the full procurement lifecycle
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Methodical thinker
• Exceptional communicator
• Great communication and presentation skills
