Hunters’ client is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team in Havant. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role plays a key part in managing the supply chain and supporting the Procurement function to ensure materials, plant, and services are delivered on time and within budget. 

Senior Buyer - The Role

• Source suppliers, negotiate pricing, and secure best value procurement solutions
• Manage procurement of materials, plant, and services in line with project schedules
• Build strong relationships with internal teams including Contracts and Estimating
• Produce cost/value reports and support budgeting and lifecycle cost analysis
• Support the Procurement Manager with team coordination, training, and department operations

Senior Buyer - The Fit

• Proven experience in procurement and supply chain within construction or civil engineering
• Strong negotiation, data analysis, and supplier management skills
• Knowledge of material specifications and compliance with QHSE standards
• Confident communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders and support team development
• Relevant qualification (HNC preferred) and/or CIPS qualification desirable, with a proactive and results-driven approach
