Role responsibilities of the Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager include:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with central purchasing, negotiate supplier contracts, and build strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and sourcing innovations to stay ahead
- Lead and mentor the purchasing team, setting goals and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage supply chain efficiency through supplier performance evaluation, risk mitigation, and inventory oversight.
Person Specification of the Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager:
- Prior experience in purchasing or procurement
- Proven ability to mentor or supervise a team effectively
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills, confident in engaging with individuals at all organisational levels in a professional manner
