The Senior Buyer at Clarendon plays an integral part in what we do as a business and is a key factor in ensuring we remain agile and maintain our high level of customer satisfaction. Not only that the Senior Buyer will provide support to the purchasing manager with executing the purchasing strategy and driving the strategic mindset to the team. Clarendon sells fasteners and, in this role, we enable that to happen ensuring we have the right stock at the right time and the right cost. Supply chain and supplier management is now more important than ever and where in this role can make the biggest impact. Each day brings different challenges allowing opportunities for growth and improvements.Responsibilities
Management of a number of commodity groups which includes order placement and maintaining set levels of stockRunning purchase proposal tool weeklyProactive sourcing to drive cost savings and marginManage and monitor stock outs ensuring minimal repeat stock outsResponsible for ensuring system is up to date with lead times and preferred suppliersBe proactive in the scheduling of orders and pushing back to suppliers delivering earlyMaking daily logistical decisions to ensure that we are making the right and cost-effective shipping decisionsReviewing the inventory report on a weekly basisManaging and maintaining up to date information on the system using supplier order booksChasing overdue orders and order acknowledgementsLead supplier meetings and yearly business reviews to drive improvement of supplier delivery performanceResolve order issues and provide input to close out reject issuesCarry out yearly commodity reviewsTendering large bidsSecure rebates and long-term agreements with suppliers and communicating to the businessManaging and monitoring contracts in place and responsible for driving actions when they expireReviewing and managing price increases and communication to the businessRequirements
Demonstrates the ACE values (Agility, Collaboration and Empathy) consistently when producing work or communicating with colleagues, customers and suppliersCIPS Level 4 qualified or interest to complete preferred but not mandatory5-10 years Purchasing Experience within a similar role/industryExperience in tendering, contract management and negotiationWell organized, confident and self-motivated individualInnovativeUsed to or capable of working in a fast-paced environmentGreat communicatorComputer literate and have a good level of skill in Microsoft applicationsAbility to drive not essential however preferredBenefits
