An exciting opportunity has become available to join one of the UK''s foremost multidisciplinary RIBA Chartered practices, which provides a broad mix of professional services to clients in the commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial sectors. They are looking for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join their Huddersfield studio and make an immediate impact on the team''s ongoing success.

Duties for the role of Senior Building Surveyor include:
- Undertaking and managing building surveys, condition assessments and technical due diligence
- Preparing in-depth technical reports, specifications and schedules of works
- Diagnosing building defects, establishing their root causes and recommending suitable remedial solutions
- Providing expert surveying advice to clients across a wide-ranging property portfolio
- Leading refurbishment, alteration and improvement schemes from early concept stage through to completion
- Assuming Contract Administrator or Employer''s Agent duties when required
- Preparing, reviewing and coordinating specifications, tender packages and contract documents
- Managing contractors and consultants while monitoring quality, programme and project budgets
- Carrying out routine site inspections and reporting accurately on construction progress
- Guiding clients on planned maintenance strategies, building lifecycle needs and capital expenditure
- Supporting dilapidations, party wall matters and other specialist surveying instructions as needed
Skills and experience for the role of Senior Building Surveyor:
- Degree in Building Surveying or a closely related field
- MRICS qualified or currently working towards chartership
- Significant post-qualification experience as a Building Surveyor within a UK practice or consultancy
- Proven background in project management and the successful delivery of projects
- Experience in healthcare settings and an understanding of fire and safety requirements would be beneficial
- Solid experience in preparing specifications, schedules of works and thorough technical reports
- Good working knowledge of construction technology, building pathology, legislation and industry regulations
- Demonstrable experience in contract administration and seeing projects through to completion
- Excellent communication, organisational and client-facing skills
