The role involves working collaboratively with a varied team of construction professionals and stakeholders to allow projects, professional services and tasks to be delivered safely on time, and to budget whilst ensuring high levels of client satisfactionResponsibilitiesManage projects of varied size and complexity including preparation of project design and specificationsAdvising the client on procurement/contacts and act as the contract administratorPreparation of tender documentation, tender reports and recommendations to the clientUndertaking day to day duties of either the Contractor Administrator or Employers AgentInterpreting drawings and designs produced by others and advise upon the technical detail and analyse the design in accordance with the technical brief, statutory requirements, and instructions of the clientLead on and undertake condition surveys and liaise with other specialistsCarry out or manage others undertaking measured surveys of existing buildings or sitesUndertake site inspectionsOversee professional matters including but not limited to Party Wall Matters, Acquisition and Condition Surveys and DilapidationsKeep Associate Directors fully informed of progressReceive Client instructions and agree fee proposals for various projects and professional surveying instructionsMaintaining technical working understanding of Buildings, construction, management and operations, including their defectsAdvising and reporting on building defects, maintenance and repairs in a concise and accurate mannerUnderstand the statutory approvals processes, including making and managing the Planning, Listed Building Consent and Building Control Approval, process successfullyWorking within the working process of RIBA Plan of Works and overseeing multi-disciplinary project teamsUndertake the training and development of othersAlways take personal responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and others by working within company HandS proceduresEndeavour to improve our social and environmental impactAny other duties as reasonably requiredIdeally Chartered accreditation, or working towards (we can support you on your journey to chartership)Ideally Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent)Previous experience as a Building SurveyorAbility to deliver larger and more complex projects through the whole project lifecycleAbility to delegate tasks to others within the team and support their workSupport junior members of the team with mentoring and developmentDevelopment of leadership and management skillsAbility to manage fees and assist with fee bidsGenerate new work through the management of client relationsAbility to work on own initiative to drive to generate new businessUnderstanding of the account management processAbility to analyse projects and report performance to line managerExcellent knowledge of CDM and construction Health and SafetyJoining Fulkers means more than just joining a great team — it’s an exciting journey filled with rewarding benefits!· 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), plus an extra paid day off for your birthday and Christmas shutdown· Option to buy or carry over up to 5 additional holiday days annually· Private health cover from day one· Enhanced maternity, paternity, and charitable volunteer leave· Agile working policy· Annual discretionary bonus and salary review· Company pension scheme· Employee Assistance Program· Cycle-to-work scheme· Access to a wellbeing app and online learning platform· Career development, chartership support and training opportunities· Internal recruitment referral bonus schemeFulkers Bailey Russell is now a Certified B Corporation, meeting high standards of social and environmental performance.
