Location: Huddersfield (with hybrid working options)
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor / Contract Administrator to join a well-established and expanding Contract Administration team. You''ll be working alongside a mix of Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers ranging from recent graduates to senior professionals.
We''re looking for someone who can balance being a strong team player with the ability to work independently and drive projects forward. Ideally, you''ll have a minimum of 5 years'' post-degree experience and be Chartered (or working towards Chartership).
The Role
- You''ll be involved in a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including:
- Acting as Contract Administrator
- Preparing specifications and schedules of work
- Carrying out site inspections and quality management
- Attending site meetings and managing cost control
- Design co-ordination and CDM Consultant / Principal Designer duties
- Party Wall Act surveys and property surveys
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Key project management duties include:
- Interpreting and delivering project briefs and scopes of service
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Managing project communication, including notices and certificates
- Overseeing contractors on site through visits and meetings
- Planning resources in line with project programmes and deliverables
- Ensuring quality assurance and stage deliverables are met
- Resolving project issues quickly and effectively to client satisfaction
- Providing regular updates to senior management on progress and budgets
The Ideal Candidate
- RICS or CIOB accredited construction degree
- Minimum 5 years'' post-qualification experience in both new build and refurbishment projects
- Strong technical background and current experience providing similar services
- Experience leading and mentoring junior team members
- Confident communicator with proven client-facing experience
- Ability to manage client relationships and service delivery on multiple projects
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with autonomy
- Full UK driving licence
