Senior Bridge Engineer

Chartered Senior Bridge Engineer Location: Hybrid (1-2 days on-site per week) Job Type: Contract Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Length of role: Initial 7 months We are seeking a Chartered Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the development of a new multi-lot framework for highway structures services. This role is crucial for ensuring a compliant, efficient, and value-for-money procurement route that aligns with strategic objectives and asset management requirements. The successful candidate will have significant experience in bridge engineering and a proven track record in managing similar frameworks. Day-to-day of the role: Lead the design phase, developing and presenting design proposals on a fortnightly basis. Take charge in the preparation of tender documentation ahead of pre-market engagement events with suppliers. Work closely with the Highways Contracts Section and support functions including the Programme Management Office, Procurement, and Legal. Ensure the new framework supports the authority''s strategic objectives, asset management requirements, and future investment programmes. Required Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrable experience in bridge engineering, particularly in developing and managing new frameworks or contracts. Years of experience in procurement, contractual, and operational management within local authority, highways, or similar environments.
