Senior Bid Manager - Defence (FTC- 9 Months)Responsibilities
Manage and co-ordinate the bidding process to deliver high-quality bids that win new business opportunities. Ensure bids are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Deliver compliant, high-scoring bids in response to customer requirements and support the Bid Director in securing the company’s position as the preferred solution provider.Support the Bid Director in the development and implementation of the overall commercial and technical proposal strategy, including win themes, differentiated solutions, and pricing strategies.Analyse tender documentation (ITT/ITN) and associated specifications to ensure the bid addresses customer needs and remains fully compliant.Conduct research to gather information about the client, their industry, and competitors to tailor the proposal.Develop and manage detailed bid plans outlining approach, schedule, and resource requirements for all bid activities, including milestones and deadlines.Coordinate input from cross-functional teams (commercial, technical, legal) to ensure a comprehensive and high-quality submission; guide content, structure, messaging, and roles.Review storyboards and documents to translate win strategies into clear bid themes; direct writing and editing of bid text.Write and edit technical responses, solution descriptions, and other critical bid components that communicate the company’s value proposition.Brief and train Bid Writers and contributors on customer requirements and bid strategy.Incorporate review feedback into bid text and ensure refinement at each review stage; support bid review teams with subject matter expertise.Ensure all bid documentation complies with client requirements; proofread and edit materials for accuracy and timeliness.Post-award, conduct reviews of proposals and feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive improvements for future bids (including win/loss analysis and trends in client requirements).Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bid Manager with a track record of delivering high-quality, compliant, and high-scoring bids.Strong project management skills with the ability to develop and deliver detailed bid plans and manage the bid process from start to finish.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to brief Bid Writers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Strong attention to detail with the ability to edit and proofread documents to high quality.In-depth knowledge of the bidding process and ability to analyse ITT/specification documentation and allocate resources for compliance and high scoring.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and implement effective pricing strategies and contribute to overall proposal strategy.Open to and able to continuously improve through training, development, and new tools.Benefits
