Senior Backend Engineer

Wheely is not a traditional ride-hailing company. We are building a platform with user privacy at its core while successfully scaling a five-star service to millions of rides across multiple cities.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join one of our dynamic technical teams, such as Marketplace, Privacy, Passenger, Supply, B2B, etc.Responsibilities

Work closely with cross-functional teams (designers, testers, product managers) to gather requirements and discuss project goalsParticipate in the analysis, design and evaluation of technical requirements together with the teamWrite clean, scalable, and efficient code mainly in Go languageImplement new microservices and support old onesPerform unit testing and participate in integration and system testing to ensure the quality of the softwareReview and give feedback on code written by peers to ensure consistency, readability, and efficiencyWrite and maintain technical documentation, including software design documents and user guidesRequirements5+ years of experience developing scalable and reliable backend servicesProficiency with Go/Ruby/Python/C++/Java/Kotlin languagesIn-depth knowledge of common databases and messaging systems like PostgreSQL/MongoDB/Redis/Kafka/RabbitMQ, etc.Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiencyOur current stack : Go microservices, shrinking Ruby monolith, Node.js, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Thrift, Redis, AWS, Terraform, K8s, Jenkins.What we Offer
