Senior Backend Developer

On behalf of The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Inside IR35) for an initial 6 month contract. Hybrid working with 2 days per week in London, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham or Darlington. PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing andamp; eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. As a Senior Developer you will play a key role in delivering robust and maintainable software that meets user needs. You will contribute across the full software development life cycle, from design and implementation through to deployment and production support. You will build a deep understanding of the wider service and use that knowledge to solve technical problems, improve system reliability, and help shape practical solutions. Alongside your development work, you will contribute to a strong engineering culture by reviewing code, sharing expertise, and supporting colleagues.
