Senior Avionics Design Engineer

A leading aerospace organisation, is looking for an experienced Avionics Design Engineer at their Oxford site. What you''ll be doing: Lead the design and integration of avionic systems to meet customer needs and certification standards. Translate concepts into detailed, compliant designs aligned with OEM Type Certificates. Manage all avionic activities within a multi-disciplinary environment, ensuring timely delivery. Capture and interpret customer requirements, providing guidance to optimise design and production. Apply Systems Engineering practices, tools, and methods throughout the project lifecycle. Support risk management, testing, and certification processes, including ground and flight testing. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain technical competency and stay updated with latest technology developments. What you''ll bring: A strong aviation background specialising in avionicsSolid knowledge of aircraft systems, software safety analysis, and certification standards(FAR/CS 27 and 29, EASA/CAA Part-21J). Proficiency in AutoCAD and other electrical/harness design tools. Experience with design lifecycle management and configuration control. An engineering degree or equivalent, with ongoing professional accreditation. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively.
