With over 120 years of experience, HDI operates across five continents, around 40 countries and employs over 5,000 people worldwide.The role:Develop a profitable book of business in-line with HDI’s strategy by:Underwriting the Hull War account as well as assisting with the General Aviation and Deductible accounts as required. Underwrite in accordance with the guidelines and business planExternally promote HDI to broking houses, creating a network of supporting brokers providing clients opportunities within appetite and also respond and develop new opportunities as they are presentedContributing to the strategic direction of the accounts – working with the Head of Aviation and SpaceKey accountabilities:Underwrite, review, peer-review, process, and service, profitable renewal and prospect business for the aviation accounts in line with the jobholder’s Underwriting Authority, the business plan, and all HDI underwriting rules and guidelines.Responsible for liaison and servicing of Aviation business.Broker liaison - develop strong, long-term relationships with London Market brokers and our mutual clients to profitably grow a book of business and provide excellent customer service.Identify new business opportunities and growth areas for class - supported by analytics as appropriate.Monitoring of Aggregates.Identify and calculate risk trends and suggest modifications to the underwriting criteria and determine premium levels as appropriate.Work with the Head of Aviation and Space to contribute to the business plan, establish appetite parameters, underwriting guidelines, pricing tools and market strategy.Represent HDI at client meetings and insurance conferences.Participate in special underwriting projects as needed.Nurture a culture of strong collaboration with HDI Group colleagues around the world.Communicate risk appetite and value proposition to London Market brokers.Provide technical underwriting expertise / guidance to less experienced underwriting staff on the coverage, risk selection, and market.Skills and experience:First hand, in-depth working knowledge of aviation markets.Strong technical understanding of classes.Intermediate MS Office skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, and; PowerPoint.Extensive and varied practical experience of classes.Demonstrable knowledge of aviation business and coverage design.Strong established business relationships with London market brokers.Have prior experience of/a proven track record in a similar role.Other:As an equal opportunities employer, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, recognising that a diverse and inclusive workplace is a creative and prosperous one.If you require support with your application, please contact ..... full job details .....
