Senior Authorised Person

Im working with a leading independent electrical engineering group with over 100 years'' experience, delivering design, installation, maintenance, and engineering solutions across industrial, infrastructure, and utility sectors. The business provides HV and LV contracting services, including grid connections, network upgrades, construction, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance across private and utility networks.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with a strong background in HV Private Networks to support the delivery of HV and LV electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical and engineering solutions for HV and LV installations, maintenance, and upgrades
• Work closely with the HV Operations Manager to plan and deliver projects effectively
• Manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery to programme, cost, and quality requirements
• Maintain clear communication with site teams, stakeholders, and clients
• Promote and enforce a strong Health & Safety culture across all activities
• Ensure full compliance with company and client safety standards
• Manage subcontractors and ensure work is delivered to required quality levels
• Deliver HV construction and asset replacement works across 11kV-33kV networks
• Carry out HV switching, isolation, earthing, and issue safety documentation
• Support testing and commissioning of HV distribution systems

Requirements:

• HV Senior Authorisation (DNO or equivalent)
• Proven experience working on HV Private Networks
• Minimum 5 years'' experience within an electrical contracting environment
• Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving capability
• Ability to work under pressure with a safety-first approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

• HNC in Electrical Engineering (Power Distribution)
• City & Guilds in HV Operational Safety
• IOSH or NEBOSH certification
