The responsibilities of the Senior Auditor will be:Delivering a programme of risk-focused internal audits across a range of council servicesLeading audit assignments from planning and scoping through to reporting and follow-upAssessing the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control arrangementsEngaging with senior stakeholders to agree findings and practical recommendationsProviding audit advice, consultancy and supporting investigations into complex issues, irregularities or fraud where required.Ensuring work is completed within agreed deadlines and professional standards The ideal candidate for the Senior Auditor role will have:Demonstrable experience within a Local Authority internal audit functionA strong grasp of risk-based auditing methodologies and control frameworksExperience delivering risk-based internal audits across complex, technical, political or sensitive areas ...
