Senior Architectural Technician

Location: Oxfordshire

Salary: -40-48,000

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician with a passion for building conservation to join a friendly, RIBA-chartered practice based in Oxfordshire.

The practice has a strong focus on sustainability and historic buildings, taking pride in revitalising and enhancing existing structures through innovative, thoughtful and sensitive design. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Architectural Technician to take a senior role within the team, contributing technical expertise to the preservation and enhancement of historic buildings while delivering projects from concept through to completion.

Requirements

  • Significant UK-based experience working as an Architectural Technician, ideally at a senior level.
  • A genuine passion for historic buildings, building conservation and sustainable design.
  • Strong technical knowledge of historic building conservation, maintenance and repair.
  • Proven experience producing detailed technical drawings and construction information using AutoCAD.
  • Strong project, programme and budget management skills.
  • Experience in contract administration and an understanding of construction contracts.
  • Experience managing or supporting a small team and contributing to their development.
  • A full, clean driving licence, access to a car and the ability to commute within the Oxfordshire region.

Role

  • Working on projects through all stages, from initial concept through to completion.
  • Producing high-quality technical drawings, detailed design information and construction packages.
  • Working on the conservation, maintenance, repair and sensitive adaptation of historic buildings.
  • Applying creative, practical and sustainable technical solutions to a varied range of projects.
  • Managing project programmes and budgets to support the successful delivery of projects.
  • Assisting with contract administration duties and supporting projects during the construction phase.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to a high technical standard while respecting the historic significance and character of each building.
  • Taking on a senior role within the practice, supporting colleagues and helping to maintain high standards across the team.
