Are you an experienced Senior Architect looking for your next step in a genuinely supportive, design-led environment? Look no further! A well-established, employee-owned architectural and heritage practice is looking to add to its Cambridge team.

 

This practice has built its reputation as one of the UK's leading architectural and heritage consultancies!

 

Joining this friendly and inclusive team, you'll bring strong design flair and technical know-how along with a proven track record of successfully running architectural projects, and you'll have real scope to shape how projects are delivered.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring creative, considered design to a varied range of projects.
  • Plan and coordinate technical design packages, agreeing outputs and deliverables with the wider team.
  • Take ownership of project delivery day-to-day, balancing design quality, client satisfaction and commercial performance.
  • Act as the main point of coordination between designers, consultants and other professionals on multi-disciplinary schemes.
  • Keep clients and stakeholders regularly informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Carry out technical reviews and audits, feeding back lessons learned to the wider studio.
  • Management responsibility for a small team

 

Senior Architect Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' post-qualification experience as a Project Architect within a UK practice.
  • RIBA/ARB registration.
  • Strong creative design ability alongside excellent technical and detailing skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of UK Building and Planning Regulations.
  • Experience across all RIBA stages, with particular strength in Stages 3–7.
  • Confident using AutoCAD, Revit and NBS.
  • Conservation experience is a plus, though not essential.
  • Project management and contract administration experience.
  • Some experience leading or managing a small-to-medium team.
  • Well organised, proactive and enthusiastic, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable building relationships directly with clients.
  • Experience taking commercial/financial responsibility for projects.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for developing others and sharing knowledge across a team.
