Our vision is to empower everyday convenience and connect tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery and convenience partners across the globe.About This RoleAs a Senior Android Engineer in the Retail Operational Excellence domain, you will join a dynamic polyglot team focused on building new functionalities as part of the wider Grocery and Retail domain, comprising several cross-functional teams. You will collaborate with multiple product and engineering teams around the world to unlock opportunities for customers and partners to improve their experience when ordering groceries. You will design and implement new features, enhance existing ones, boost performance, and develop robust and scalable Android solutions that serve our extensive customer base.Your role will foster communication and collaboration. You will work closely with product owners, web and mobile front-end engineers, and other backend engineers to deliver high-quality software.These are some of the key ingredients to the role:Product Definition: Collaborate with engineering teams and Product Managers to contribute significantly to defining new product features.Technical Ownership: Consistently deliver high-quality software that meets team best practices and expectations.Project Management: Take complete ownership of components you develop, managing timelines and communicating progress to the wider team and organization.Cross-Functional Communication: Share progress and ideas with your team, contributing to the growth of the Android guild by sharing new development practices, patterns, and standards.Inner Source Model Contributions: Contribute to other teams’ repos to integrate new features into their codebase.What will you bring to the table?We’re looking for a collaborative, proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for innovation. Your technical toolkit should include:Extensive experience with Kotlin, including integration and unit testing.Proven experience integrating with server-side APIs within a Microservices architecture.Strong understanding and experience with Android architecture (multi-modules, Dependency Injection, MVVM).Proficiency in building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose.Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.A solid understanding of developing software using isolated and reusable components.A keen eye for code design, prioritising efficiency and readability.Knowledge and experience with experimentation and A/B testing.Comfortable working within an Agile methodology.At JET, This Is On The MenuOur teams forge connections internally and work with some of the best-known brands on the planet, giving us international impact in a dynamic environment.
