Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established Chartered Accountancy firm in central London to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant. Working closely with managers and partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services while building strong relationships with clients across a range of industries.
Key responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Producing management accounts and financial reports.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Assisting with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
- Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted point of contact.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
- Liaising with HMRC and responding to client queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value to client businesses.
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience will also be considered).
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax principles.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
