Senior AccountantInterim Local AuthorityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a busy finance team, providing professional financial support across a range of services.Working closely with budget managers and senior stakeholders, you will lead on budget monitoring, forecasting, financial reporting and year-end activities. You will provide expert financial advice, support strategic decision-making and help ensure effective financial management across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:Produce and monitor revenue and capital budgetsPrepare forecasts, financial reports and management informationSupport the preparation of annual accounts and statutory returnsProvide financial advice to managers and stakeholdersAnalyse financial performance and identify risks and opportunitiesAssist with service planning, budget setting and financial modellingSupport and mentor junior finance staff where requiredThe Ideal Candidate:CCAB qualified, AAT qualified or equivalent relevant experienceStrong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experienceExcellent analytical and communication skillsAbility to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholdersExperience working within a complex finance environmentLocal government finance experience is desirableThis is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive organisation where you can make a real impact while developing your career within a professional finance team.For more information or to apply, ..... full job details .....
