Senior Manager (Accountancy Practice) - 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract Canterbury, Kent Circa £55,000 pa Pro Rata An established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Canterbury is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join the business on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a key appointment designed to support the smooth transition of a substantial client portfolio following the departure of a senior member of the leadership team. This is a hands-on role that will require a confident and technically strong practice professional who can quickly build relationships with clients, provide continuity of service, and support the wider team throughout the handover period. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients. Lead the transition and handover of client relationships from a departing Director. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring a high level of service is maintained. Review statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, management accounts, and related compliance work. Provide technical guidance and support to managers and junior team members. Attend client meetings and offer commercial and strategic advice where appropriate. Work closely with senior leadership to ensure a seamless transfer of knowledge and responsibilities. Identify any client risks or opportunities during the transition process.
