Role: Senior Accountant

Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Hours: Full-time
Pay: -40,000 - -45,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join one of our longstanding clients, an established practice in Brighton.

This is a senior, hands-on position managing a portfolio of key clients while overseeing workflow, supporting junior team members and providing a high standard of accountancy and tax advice.

The Requirements:

• Significant previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualification or qualified by experience
• Strong working knowledge of Sage and Xero
• Excellent organisation and time management
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• Confident written and verbal communication
• Ability to analyse financial information accurately
• Excellent attention to detail

The Role:

• Manage a portfolio of key clients and build strong relationships
• Ensure client submissions and deadlines are met
• Advise clients on relevant accountancy and tax changes
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Prepare statutory accounts for partnerships and limited companies
• Prepare Directors'' personal tax returns and review dividend positions
• Manage workflow and support the wider accounting team
• Oversee Bookkeepers and Account Juniors
• Train and develop junior staff
• Prepare P11Ds and work towards monthly billing targets
