Senior Accountant East London £38,000 - £45,000A leading accountancy practice is seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, delivering both high-quality compliance work and proactive advisory support. The role combines hands-on technical accounting with commercial client engagement, team oversight, and the development of value-added insights that help clients improve performance, profitability, and strategic direction. Role ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary contact for a varied and complex client portfolio, managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.Respond to client queries and lead client meetings, including agendas, action points, and follow-up notes.Provide commercial insight across turnover, margins, cashflow, efficiencies, cost savings, and risk areas.Review accounts and other outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards are met, identifying areas requiring further analysis or stress testing.Support the preparation and review of management accounts, forecasts, and scenario-based ''what if'' analysis.Challenge and improve client forecasts, assumptions, and business plans to drive stronger decision-making.Carry out advisory work including business scorecards, valuations, systems reviews, and process improvement recommendations.Develop structured action plans with clear milestones and secure client buy-in for delivery.Apply appropriate technical knowledge in areas such as RandD tax relief, CT600 ..... full job details .....
