We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accounts Professional to join our finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial management of the business.

The Role

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function while ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient financial operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.

• Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and payroll.

• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.

• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.

• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.

• Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.

• Monitor stock valuation and manufacturing costs.

• Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.

• Develop and improve financial processes and internal controls.

• Support senior management with financial planning and strategic decision-making.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Significant experience in a senior accounts or finance role.

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications needed

• AAT qualified, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or qualified by experience.

• Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting systems.

• Knowledge of stock control and cost accounting.
