The successful tutor will have experience supporting children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs and be confident adapting their teaching and support to meet individual academic, emotional and behavioural needs. Experience supporting learners who may struggle with emotional regulation, engagement or traditional learning environments would be highly desirable. The role will focus on building positive relationships, helping learners overcome barriers to education and supporting them to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning. A calm, consistent and flexible approach will be essential. Experience supporting young people who display challenging behaviour, experience anxiety, school avoidance or disengagement from education would be particularly beneficial.
