Tutor - GCSE Maths and EnglishHoughton-le-SpringProspero Teaching is looking for an experienced GCSE Maths and English Tutor with SEN experience to deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group support to Key Stage 3 and 4 students in the Houghton-le-Spring area.The learners are currently not attending full-time school due to Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.About the RoleWe are looking for patient, adaptable, and empathetic tutors who can deliver engaging, personalised Maths and English tuition while creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Successful tutors will be able to build positive relationships with students, tailor lessons to individual learning needs, address gaps in mathematical knowledge, reading, writing and literacy skills, and support learners in developing the confidence and skills needed to progress towards their GCSE qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver tailored one-to-one GCSE Maths and English tutoring sessions for students with SEN and SEMH needs.Plan and adapt lessons to bridge learning gaps, strengthen core mathematical skills, develop literacy, and support GCSE curriculum progression.Prepare students for GCSE Maths and English examinations by developing their subject knowledge, exam techniques, and confidence.Engage students and support emotional regulation through positive reinforcement, patience, and flexible teaching strategies.Create a calm, safe, and encouraging learning ..... full job details .....
