Part-Time SENDCo (Fixed Term until Christmas - Potential Extension)

Contract: 0.6 (3 days per week), fixed term until December 2025, with potential to continue

The School
A welcoming mainstream primary school with a dedicated resource base for pupils with additional needs. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and supportive staff team. With small group interventions, specialist staff, and strong pastoral provision, the school ensures that all pupils - both within the resource base and mainstream - can thrive.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and organised SENDCo to join the team on a part-time basis. This role involves leading on all SEND provision across the school, including oversight of the resource base, management of resource base staff, and ensuring all EHCPs within the mainstream setting are implemented effectively. You will work closely with teachers, TAs, parents, and external professionals to ensure pupils with additional needs receive the best possible support.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the resource base and line manage specialist staff
Ensure provision for pupils with EHCPs is delivered and reviewed
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g. Educational Psychologists, SALTs, CAMHS)
Support teachers to adapt lessons and interventions for SEND pupils
Monitor, track, and evaluate progress of SEND students across the school
Contribute to the development of whole-school SEND policy and practice
Essential Criteria
National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
Proven experience as a SENDCo or in a senior SEND role
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and manage a team
Desirable Criteria
Experience working with pupils with a wide range of SEND, including SEMH, SLCN, and complex needs
Previous leadership experience in a resource base or specialist setting

Pay

Vetting
Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants will undergo checks including reference and TRA checks. If you do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, a new DBS will need to be processed at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work and once registered to the update service.
