SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)Location: Tower Hamlets, LondonJob Type: Maternity Leave Cover, Part-time (3-4 days a week)Salary: To be confirmedWe are seeking a dedicated SENDCO to join a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets on a maternity leave cover basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they achieve their full potential.Day-to-day of the role:Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school''s SEN policy.Liaise with and advise fellow teachers on best practices for SEN.Manage the SEN team of teaching assistants and support staff.Coordinate provision for children with SEN, including developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with SEN through regular assessments and reviews.Work closely with parents/carers to ensure they are actively involved in their child''s education and support.Liaise with external agencies, including educational psychologists and health care professionals, to ensure appropriate support is in place.Required Skills and Qualifications:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognised SEN qualification or extensive experience in SEN.Proven experience as a SENDCO or in a similar role within a primary school setting.Strong understanding of the SEN code of practice and legislation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and ..... full job details .....
