SEND Teaching Assistants

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for 2 dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis in a supportive secondary school in the Burnley area. These are long-term positions starting ASAP, with the potential to extend beyond for the right candidates. The successful candidates will have strong previous experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally within a secondary school setting. You will work closely with key pupils, providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support to help them access learning, overcome barriers and develop greater confidence and independence. The role will involve supporting pupils within lessons, adapting activities and communication to meet individual needs, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement, and helping pupils to develop academically, socially and emotionally. You will work closely with subject teachers, the SENCO and wider school staff to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND and who are confident managing challenging situations in a calm, patient and consistent manner. The ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged pupils and adapt your approach to suit individual needs is essential.
