SEND Teaching Assistant

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established SEND school in Wigston that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), while providing guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants within the classroom environment. The Role As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teachers to deliver high-quality learning opportunities and ensuring pupils receive the individual support they need to thrive. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, parents, carers and other professionals to support pupils'' educational, social, emotional and physical development. Key responsibilities include: Supporting teaching, learning and classroom activities. Assisting with planning, delivering and assessing individual pupil programmes. Leading and supporting other Teaching Assistants within the classroom. Promoting pupil independence, confidence and wellbeing. Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, including communication, learning and physical needs. Assisting with personal care and health care routines where required.
