Salary: £90 - £120 per day

Do you have experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties and speech, communication and language needs?

Are you patient, resilient and adaptable, with the ability to help pupils access learning and develop their confidence?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a special day school in Selly Oak supporting pupils aged 4-11 with special educational needs and/or disabilities arising from cognition and learning difficulties. The school provides specialist support for pupils with severe learning difficulties and speech, communication and language difficulties, creating a supportive environment where individual needs are understood and valued.

The school is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and long-term opportunities, with an immediate start. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the primary age range, providing individual and classroom support while working closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning and develop their communication, independence and social skills.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND

• Experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties

• Experience supporting speech, communication and language needs

• Confidence working with primary-aged pupils

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
