About the Role
Teach South Kent is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in schools within the Tonbridge area. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs, helping to create a positive, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to adapt learning activities
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting
- Understanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
