SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Contract: Full time temporary contract
Location:: Irlam, Greater Manchester
Rate: -110 per day

Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEN school in Irlam.

The school is looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and confident supporting children with additional needs, whether that''s through 1:1 support, small-group work or within the wider classroom.

• Supporting pupils with SEN across the primary age range
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access learning and develop their confidence
• Supporting children with their social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive environment

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or similar
• Patient, calm and empathetic approach
• Confident managing challenging behaviour where required
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils
• A relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• School-based experience is advantageous
